Indie games you should check out this week: November 23-29

Looking for a new game to play? Here are the top indie releases you should check out this week

We’re rapidly approaching the end of the year, and that means the games coming out are starting to slow down. It seems like it was only last week where things were completely hectic, but things move fast in the world of gaming.

Although things have calmed down, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any games coming out this week for you to keep an eye on.

We’ve got another three indie games for you to consider picking up this week. Whether you want something cute, scary or serious, there’s something for you in this week’s list. So, let’s get to it.

Out Of Space: Couch Edition

Moving homes can often be a stressful, expensive and generally deeply unpleasant experience, but Out Of Space aims to take that and turn it into something a little bit more entertaining.

Taking place in a house in space, you’re tasked with making the most of your cosmic home in the face of a plethora of obstacles. Sometimes you’ll have to deal with alien infestations, sometimes the rooms themselves will be against you and sometimes it’ll be your co-op partner that’s causing trouble.

The aim of Out Of Space is to be accessible, and that makes it the perfect game to introduce to friends who might not be as familiar with gaming. It also makes it a great title for those who want something new to play with kids or the family, so it’s definitely one to consider unpacking.

Out November 25 on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Maid Of Sker

While it might feel a little late in the year for more horror games, Maid Of Sker is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch, after being released this year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Maid Of Sker is based on the Welsh tale of Elisabeth Williams, and it’s creepy as all hell. You have to find your way through a deeply unsettling mansion while avoiding enemies who are always listening. You don’t have any weapons either, so you’ll have to get smart to survive.

This survival horror game takes all of the power away from you, so don’t expect to be turning the tables on any of the monstrosities you’ll come across in this haunted place. Instead, be prepared to be the underpowered underdog throughout, and if that sounds like your sort of thing, then you’re going to love it here.

RAM Pressure

XCOM-style tactics games are intense. The potential for both success and failure is infinite, and requires just as much skill as it does luck. Despite that, this genre is an intoxicating blend of difficulty, customisation and sheer force of will. If that sounds appealing to you, then RAM Pressure might just be exactly what you’re looking for.

You play as the leader of a paramilitary group that hunts down alien weapons and slowly uncovers the dark and seedy underbelly of the people you’re working for. RAM Pressure has loads of weapons to mess around with and lots of potential in both the single-player and multiplayer aspects. It’s definitely one to watch.

Out November 25 in Early Access on PC.
