Here's what we know so far about the essential Spanish fest.
Very few festivals come more fun and scorching than Benicàssim. The four-day fest which runs from July 13-16 2017 allows punters to soak up the Castellón beach by day, before immersing themselves in music by night. 2017’s festival has a gigantic, loud-as-it-gets line up, with many more names still to be announced. Here’s what to expect:
Who’s headlining Benicàssim 2017?
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Why they’ll be great: The loose-fitting, slap bass-loving rock giants are following the release of 11th studio album ‘The Getaway’ with a massive headline slot.
- Foo Fighter’s fans have got to check out this official band t-shirt from the NME Merch Store.
The Weeknd
Why he’ll be great: ‘Starboy’ cemented him as one of the planet’s biggest popstars. Abel Tesfaye is here to prove he’s a headliner with staying power.
Kasabian
Why they’ll be great: Ask any band in the world to headline your festival, few will bring a party quite like Kasabian. New album ‘For Crying Out Loud’ ups the anthem ante even further – except a set filled with classics and new-fangled triumphs.

Foals
Why they’ll be great: Sharing co-headlining duties with local giants Los Planetas and EDM producer Deadmau5, this is one of the Oxford group’s only shows of 2017. Their most recent album, 2015’s ‘What Went Down’, is practically tailor-made for nights under Spanish skies.
The acts we’re excited to see
Liam Gallagher
Why he’ll be great: Liam’s solo debut promises to be “dangerous”, loud and in-your-face. The Oasis man has a point to prove.
- Check out this awesome Liam and Noel Gallagher themed merch collection in the NME Store
Biffy Clyro
Why they’ll be great: No festival should go without the Biff – last year’s ‘Ellipsis’ was another dose of heavy, full-hearted rock from the Scottish trio.

Stormzy
Why he’ll be great: He’s released one of the year’s best debuts with ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’. Now Stormzy is pushing the grime revolution to the U.S. and Europe. There’s no stopping this Croydon talent.
Dua Lipa
Why she’ll be great: A refreshingly honest, fun-first popstar for the ages, Dua Lipa is going to have a huge 2017.
Years & Years
Why they’ll be great: Midway through making a second album, Years & Years are ditching studio cabin fever for a healthy dose of Spanish sun – expect hits by the bucketload.
