Lily Allen criticises Wireless Festival line-up

The singer has posted a new version of the poster on Twitter with all male acts removed

Lily Allen has criticised the Wireless Festival line-up for only including three women.

The three-day London event will take place at Finsbury Park between July 6-8, and will be headlined by J. Cole, Stormzy, and DJ Khaled.

Allen posted a new version of the line-up poster on Twitter with all the male artists playing removed. The only acts remaining on the poster are Mabel, Cardi B, and Lisa Mercedez. She captioned the post: “The struggle is real”.

More acts are still to be announced for the festival, but fans are not happy with the lack of female artists so far. “Shame on @WirelessFest,” wrote one Twitter user, while another said: “Sad. Just 3 women? Im so angry now.”

Recently, Halsey hit out at US festival Firefly, complaining that female acts were not fairly represented on the bill. Damn guys come onnnnnn,” she wrote. “Where the women at? This was one of my favorite festivals I’ve ever played and it’s a shame there’s not more females on the bill. With the exception of (the amazing) SZA, the first like 20 acts on the bill are men. It’s 2018, do better!”

After one fan attempted to call her out, Halsey then responded: “Who am I supposed to “go off on” haha. Festivals ASK artists to play. Artists don’t ASK festivals if they can come. I’m just raising a point! So many dope women in music right now!”
