The rapper/singer only performed for 30 minutes with David Guetta at the north London festival
Nicki Minaj missed her entire set at London’s Wireless Festival on Sunday (July 5) after arriving to the site two hours late.
The three-day event ran at Finsbury Park in north London over the weekend.
The rapper/singer was due to perform on the main stage at 7pm BST, however she did not appear until 9.30pm, cutting David Guetta’s set short in the process.
Amidst the uncertainty around Minaj’s whereabouts, a message read on the screens at Wireless: “Special announcement: we are told that she was due to be speeding down the M1 from Luton Airport but we have lost contact with her, we are hoping that she will be here soon.”
The festival later tweeted: “Nicki Minaj has had last minute travel issues so is delayed. We’ll update as soon as we have more information.”
Guetta began his performance at 8.30pm, before Minaj joined him for a 30 minute medley of hits including ‘Anaconda’, ‘Feeling Myself’ and more.
When she did make it to the stage, Minaj reportedly told the crowd: “Our plane couldn’t get out because of the weather but I want to tell you how much I fucking love y’all. I want to tell you how much I appreciate you guys for showing up from day one.”
She added: “I want to say that to all the women in the building, if you are independent, make some motherfucking noise!”
Minaj had been performing in Denmark the previous evening.
Meanwhile, dozens of people stormed into Wireless Festival on Friday night (July 3) after a gig-goer opened a locked gate.
During grime MC Lethal Bizzle‘s set on Friday, a crowd congregated behind one of the entrance gates, attempting to force their way into the site.
With security guards trying to keep the gatecrashers out, one individual was filmed opened the locked gate, leading to a stampede of people rushing into the festival, several tripping in the commotion and one being tackled by security staff. Watch here.
