Right on the eve of release, ‘Dying Light 2’ fans have been upset by finding out that the game they’ve been waiting around five years for, will have the controversial denuvo anti-tamper digital rights management system on PC. It hadn’t been announced previously, and was only revealed through a steam update yesterday, along with the title’s store page now including the details.
At the moment, every game released is doing everything it can to stay in the public eye. We’re in the middle of one of the busiest periods for release dates in a long time, and ‘Dying Light 2’, despite only being release a fortnight ago, is already bringing fans some new content in the first of the post-launch DLC, but it’s going to be long running thing, this one, as the game is planned to be supported for five years.
The launch of ‘Dying Light 2’ has certainly not been without issues. Pre-release, critics had numerous patches that fixed things like missing audio, and co-op wasn’t available until the game officially launched. Techland has been pretty forthcoming about thousands of fixes that have already been incorporated into the game via patches, with more on the way, and the lead designer has now given some insight into why a few things are the way they are.
