These are a few of our NME Merch favourites:
Avenged Sevenfold Classic Death Bat Men’s Tee
This classic tee supports the release of the heavy metal band’s third studio album, ‘City of Evil’. Coming away from the band’s traditional metalcore sound, vocalist M.Shadows worked with Chris Cornell and Axl Rose’s vocal coach to achieve a ‘grittier’ sound but one that still kept its brutal tone. Drummer, The Rev, also honed his musical attributes, practicing for hours a day to achieve 210 beats per minute for this more intense offering.
Avenged Sevenfold Flightcase Men’s Tee
This tee was inspired by the release of the band’s fourth studio album, ‘Avenged Sevenfold’. Delayed by two weeks, the band had to complete bonus material and finish the making of their animated music video for ‘A Little Piece of Heaven’. The album garnered mixed reviews from critics, but we reckon it holds up.
Avenged Sevenfold Special Edition Tours That Rocked The World: Buried Alive Tour 2012 Men’s T-Shirt
Supported by Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria and Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold’s 2012 ‘Buried Alive’ tour surrounded the release of fifth album, ‘Nightmare’. Rumour is that they wanted Rob Zombie to direct the video for their ‘Buried Alive’ single; but when he declined due to other work commitments they canned the video project entirely.
Avenged Sevenfold Deadly Rule Men’s T-Shirt
This tee features the iconic artwork of Avenged Sevenfold’s critically successful sixth album, ‘Hail to the King’ – this record is the only one to feature Arin Ilejay on the drums. It also is the first without any musical contribution from Ilejay’s predecessor, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan – who passed away in 2009. The track, ‘St James’, was written in his memory.
