Adele issues statement after separating from her husband, Simon Konecki

The couple have split after seven years together

Adele has announced that she has separated from her husband, Simon Konecki.

The singer’s representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh confirmed the news in a statement released yesterday (April 19).

It read: “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”

The couple had been together for seven years and reportedly married in 2017. Adele, who is famously guarded about her private life, confirmed that she married Konecki at the 2017 Grammys.

Accepting her award for album of the year, Adele said: “Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son you’re the only reason I do it.”

Earlier this month, Adele, a self-proclaimed Beyoncé super fan, shared her excitement for the release of Beyoncé ‘s’Homecoming’ via a series of screenshots on Instagram showing a text message conversation with one of her friends.

Discussing Homecoming, the pair animatedly chat about the initial Netflix teaser image.

“Oh my dayyyyyyyyysssss,” Adele exclaimed, at the start of the conversation. “Why does she always know when I need her.”

In 2017, Adele famously dedicated her 2017 Album of the Year Grammy to Beyoncé, after her album ’25’ beat out Bey’s ‘Lemonade’.

“All us artists adore you,” Adele declared. “You are our light. The way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. I love you. I always have. And I always will.”
