After apparently dropping out, Baldwin attended the read-through
Alec Baldwin may be appearing in Rock Of Ages after all.
Confusion now surrounds the 30 Rock star’s involvement in the movie adaptation of the 80s hair metal musical. Baldwin initially signed up to play nightclub owner Dennis Dupree in the film, but earlier this week it was reported that he dropped out due to unknown personal reasons.
However, it emerged last night (May 12) that Baldwin had indeed taken part in the first full-cast read-through, which took place yesterday, according to Deadline.com. In any case, director Adam Shankman is running out of time to persuade Baldwin to commit to the movie. Production is due to start on May 23.
Rock Of Ages is also set to star Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Malin Akerman. The theatre version is opening in London this autumn.
