Amy Poehler to reunite with Tina Fey on ‘Wine Country’

The female-led movie marks the 'Parks & Rec' star's directorial debut

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are set to reunite on Wine Country, an upcoming Netflix original film.

The movie marks Poehler’s directorial debut on a movie. She has previously directed three episodes of Parks And Recreation, in which she also starred, one episode of Broad City, and the TV movie Dumb Prince.

As well as Poehler and Fey, Wine Country also boasts a strong female cast. In a teaser video shared on Netflix’s Twitter account, Poehler passes her phone around a room to reveal Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, and Emily Spivey.

Wine Country, written by Poehler and Spivey, will follow a group of friends visiting Napa Valley in California to celebrate a 50th birthday. No release date for the movie has been confirmed at present.

Recently, the cast of Parks And Rec hit back at the NRA for bringing Poehler’s character Leslie Knope into the gun control debate.

After a CNN town hall meeting, held in the wake of the Parkland school shooting, the NRA sent a tweet to spokesperson Dana Loesch thanking her “for being the voice of over 5 million #NRA members”. The tweet included a gif of Knope.

Parks And Rec creator Michael Shur soon responded, tweeting: “Hi, please take this down. I would prefer you not use a GIF from a show I worked on to promote your pro-slaughter agenda. Also, Amy isn’t on twitter, but she texted me a message: “Can you tweet the NRA for me and tell them I said fuck off?”
