Andy Dick charged after allegedly groping a stranger in LA

The comedian has been charged with "sexual battery"

Comedian Andy Dick has been charged after he allegedly groped a woman on an LA sidewalk.

Dick has been charged with ‘misdemeanour sexual battery’ and ‘misdemeanour simple battery’, after Deputy City Attorney Nicholas Lauber filed a complaint against the 52-year-old on Monday (July 2).

Law enforcement sources have reportedly told TMZ that the charges stem from an incident in April in which a woman reported that the comedian groped her twice as he walked past her on a sidewalk in April.

He was also accused, according to the entertainment website, of making “lewd comments” towards the woman.

This latest incident comes after the comedian was dropped from his role in Raising Buchanan following a number of accusations. He was accused of inappropriate behaviours including the groping of genitals, unwanted kissing/licking and sexual propositions.

Dick issued a statement denying any instances of harassment but did say that he “might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them”, before adding: “That’s my thing”.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Dick added: “My middle name is ‘misconduct’. They know what they signed up for.”

“I don’t grope people anymore. I don’t expose myself anymore,” he continued. “I do understand that the temperature in the world right now is delicate.”

Dick went on to say that he “overtook my medication and took too many Xanax and I was a bit loopy” on the set, but “that didn’t make me rape people.”
