Here’s where you can catch the Arcadia Spider following confirmation it won’t be at Glastonbury 2019

It's your only chance to catch the Arcadia Spider in the UK next year

Arcadia, the brains behind Glastonbury’s legendary Arcadia Spider, will bring the metallic monster to London in 2019.

The event, which runs on the May Day bank holiday weekend (4-5 May 2019), will be the only UK performance of Arcadia’s evolving Metamorphosis show.

A press release states that the new show is a ” brand new incarnation of The Reactor – Arcadia’s 360-degree immersive indoor experience, the six-wheeled amphibious Bug rolling out the carnival spirit, new sculptures, new installations and a fresh wave of groundbreaking performance alongside the world’s greatest electronic music artists.”

Arcadia London will be the only event held at Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2019. East London is to be “transformed into a mythological landscape for an accelerating future.”

It is the only place in the UK where revellers can watch the fire-breathing Arcadia Spider – Glastonbury 2019 has a “totally different adventure” planned by Arcadia.

Speaking to Somerset Live, the founders of Arcadia Spectacular said: “We’re beginning a totally different adventure at Glastonbury that will evolve over the coming years.

“We’re currently neck deep in scrapyards and as excited as everyone else about what we might find next.”

And with Arcadia London, the founders said “We can’t wait to return to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in 2019 after such an incredible debut show. We’re hugely excited about all the evolutions and developments on the boil and can’t wait to share them with everyone next May.”

The event will also see the growth of a Community Day that saw more than 200 local children and teenagers attend creative arts and engineering workshops last year.

Pre-registration for tickets is now open. Tickets go on general sale at 10am this Thursday, November 29.
