Arnold Schwarzenegger teases possible return to ‘The Predator’ sequel

After turning down Predator 2, is Arnie about to reprise his role of Dutch?

Arnold Schwarzenegger might be making a return to Shane Black’s big-budget sequel of The Predator.

Schwarzenegger, who played Dutch in the original 1987 movie alongside Black himself, revealed during a new interview that he’s planning on meeting up with the director, fuelling reports that it could be to discuss a role in the movie.

Speaking to The Arnold Fans, the actor let slip: “I haven’t talked with him [Shane Black] yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I’m finished with this [Arnold’s Sports Festival] and The Apprentice and all this stuff.

“But I will get together with him. If there is any news, we’ll of course let you know right away. There’s also a meeting coming up soon about Conan, about the project moving forward.”

He added: “Look, the fans are the most important thing because without the fans, I’d be nothing. So I just always want them to know that I appreciate them very much; their loyalty, their dedication, and their passion about all the stuff that I’m doing. So, thank you.”

The sequel to the first Predator film was announced a few years back when Black was busy directing his upcoming 1970s crime caper, The Nice Guys.

Fox recently set a March 2, 2018 release date for the film, which will be a proper sequel for the franchise and not a reboot.

Schwarzenegger previously opted not to return to the 1990 follow-up Predator 2 over a despite over pay.
