Edgar Wright has given an update about the ‘Baby Driver’ sequel

Marking the one year anniversary of the original film

Edgar Wright has celebrated the one year anniversary of Baby Driver by teasing details of a sequel.

The original film starred Ansel Elgort as Baby, who’s been blackmailed into working as a getaway driver for slick career criminal Doc (Kevin Spacey). It also starred Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx and Downton Abbey’s Lily James.

The film went on to win Best Film supported by Zig-Zag at the VO5 NME Awards 2018, that saw Wright accept the award via a video message. The video also featured an unlikely cameo from Beck, who appeared in the background.

Rumours of a sequel have been stirring since the original film’s success, with Wright saying that he hopes he’s “going to at least write a second one” back in December.

“I’ve definitely got lots of ideas. Whether it’s the next movie, I don’t know. I’m just working that out at the moment, actually. I have a couple of things that I’ve been developing, and also a couple of new ideas that I had, and all the nice things that I’ve been offered since,” he added.

He’s again teased the possibility of a sequel with an Instagram post yesterday (June 28), as he celebrated Baby Driver’s anniversary. “‘Baby Driver’ was released one year ago today. Had a wild ride with it in the last 365 days. so I thank you for all your beautiful responses, it means everything,” he wrote.

“And who knows, maybe he could get back on the road soon…” You can see the post below.
