Ben Affleck has been scouring the Black List – Hollywood‘s rundown of the best unproduced screenplays – in order to decide what will be his next project to direct.
Affleck has directed two films to date – 2007’s Gone Baby Gone and 2010’s The Town.
A script named American Bullshit appears to be the favourite, reports Deadline.com.
The script has been written by Eric Warren Singer and is based on an undercover FBI sting in the 1980s, dubbed Abscam, which was intended to root out corruption in Congress.
Affleck has also been considering making a film about conflict in the Congo. He’s also considering Replay, the story of a 43-year-old man who wakes up in the body of an 18-year-old.
The fourth film he’s considering is The Trade, in which he would co-star with friend and longtime collaborator Matt Damon, as one of two wife-swapping New York Yankees pitchers.
