Former US president Bill Clinton has filmed a cameo for The Hangover Part II, set for release next year.
The politician will play himself in the sequel to the 2009 original, which will focus on the aftermath of Zach Galifianakis‘s character Alan, Bradley Cooper‘s Phil and Ed Helms‘ Stu‘s drunken adventures.
Clinton was in Thailand recently making a speech about clean energy. He filmed the scene in the country on Saturday (November 13), reports People magazine.
Cameo roles in The Hangover sequel have been big news recently. Director Todd Phillips originally recruited Mel Gibson for an appearance, but replaced him with Liam Neeson after cast and crew members objected to Gibson‘s involvement.
Phillips insisted, however, that the Lethal Weapon star wasn’t fired. “No one was ever fired,” he said. “It’s a term that’s so obscene to me. Someone was doing me a favour to come in for a two-minute cameo, and we changed it. It wasn’t like we fired somebody.”
Boxer Mike Tyson had a cameo in the original movie.
