Reclusive comic signs up to play former President in 'Hyde Park On Hudson'
Bill Murray has signed on to star as for US President Franklin D Roosevelt in historical drama Hyde Park On Hudson.
The reclusive Ghostbusters star has been circling the role for months now. But it was confirmed last night (May 5) that he will portray the President.
The film can be seen as part of the aftermath from the massive success of The King’s Speech. It will follow King George VI and Queen Elizabeth spending a weekend with Roosevelt at his upstate New York home, Hyde Park On Hudson itself.
No casting decisions have been made for who will play the King and Queen, yet Focus Features is planning to seek international buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, according to Collider.
Murray is notoriously difficult to pin down to any role at all since he has no agent – just a phone number held by a select few leading to a voicemail that he only occasionally checks. His procrastination is believed to be behind the delays to Ghostbusters 3.
