Here are the bookies odds for the Mercury Music Prize 2018 shortlist

This year's odds are the closest ever

The odds for the 2018 Mercury Music Prize are the closest they have ever been according to bookies William Hill.

There are three favourites this year with odds of 4 to 1 – Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino‘, Florence And The Machine’s ‘High As Hope‘ and Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds ‘Who Built The Moon?‘.

There are a further three on 6-1 including Lily Allen’s ‘No Shame’, Jorja Smith’s ‘Lost & Found‘ and Wolf Alice’s second album ‘Visions Of A Life’.

Odds of 8-1 have been offered on Everything Everything’s ‘A Fever Dream’, King Krule’s ‘The Ooz’, Everything Is Recorded by ‘Everything Is Recorded’.

Finally, three more albums are offering odds of 10 to 1 – MC Novelist’s recent debut album ‘Novelist Guy’, Nadine Shah’s fifth album ‘Holiday Destination’ and Sons Of Kemet’s ‘Your Queen Is A Reptile’.

The 2018 Awards Show will take place on Thursday 20 September at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.

The event will feature live performances from many of the shortlisted artists and the evening will culminate in the announcement of the overall winner of the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize for Album of the Year.
