Bring Me The Horizon: ‘Machine Head tour will be our last UK dates for a while’

Band will hit four UK arenas with Machine Head and DevilDriver this winter

Bring Me The Horizon have announced their final UK touring commitments for the foreseeable future.

The Sheffield metal band will play second headline to Machine Head on four UK arena dates in December. The gigs begin at London‘s Wembley Arena on December 3 and run until December 6 when they play Manchester‘s Central Arena. Devildriver and Darkest Hour are also part of the tour package.

Speaking to NME about the tour, singer Oli Sykes said: “These will be our last dates on this touring cycle on this side of the Atlantic. After that and we’re done overseas we’ll have some time off and start writing the next record.”

Asked why the band hadn’t done a headlining trek of their own in arenas, Sykes said: “I can’t imagine us headlining arenas, at this point in time it’s just not something I can see. Machine Head were a massive inspiration to us growing up and we were honoured to be asked to do the tour. We’re really excited.”

Sykes also said that the band have yet to begin work on the follow-up to their third album ‘There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret.’, as they don’t write on tour and have no wish to make a similar record again.

He said: “We don’t really write on tour. We don’t want any of our records to sound like each other so we’ll go home and then sit down and come up with something.”

Sykes also said he didn’t believe the band’s experiences of bigger venues would impact on their songwriting, adding: “When we’re writing, we don’t really think about how it will be live. We just write and then go with what we have. We don’t think about where we’d like to play, I like the fact that we’re doing bigger and bigger venues is still a surprise.”

Machine Head/Bring Me The Horizon/Devildriver/Darkest Hour will play:

London Wembley Arena (December 3)
Birmigham National Indoor Arena (4)
Glasgow S.E.CC (5)
Manchester Central (6)
