Friends fans could be about to live out their coffee filled dreams in real life, amid speculation that coffee house Central Perk will open in real life.
Having previously opened as a pop-up location in New York and London, Warner Bros have reportedly secured the copyright to use the name Central Perk for “coffee shop and café services”.
The copyright documents were first spotted by the commendable sleuths at The Blast, and it seemingly suggests that something a little more permanent is in the offing.
As part of the trademark request, Warner Bros have specifically requested to use the exact Central Perk logo, which consisted of “a shaded oval flanked by coffee cups with steam rising above them, with the banner bearing the stylised wording CENTRAL and the shaded oval bearing the stylised wording PERK with a coffee bean design on either side of the wording PERK”.
Warner Brothers have also reportedly requested the use of the name on “toys, board games and slot machines”, although those filings have yet to be approved.
Monica is the least favourite main character on the show with only five percent of the votes. Her brother Ross didn’t fare much better, only scoring one percent more.
Phoebe is the highest-ranking of the female characters with 15 percent, while Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel gained 13 percent of the vote.
Joey Tribbiani came in second place with 17 percent, leaving Chandler Bing in poll position with 20 percent of the final vote.
Friends fans were also given renewed hope for a reunion – after a fake movie trailer went viral last month.
