Cheryl Cole is said to be being pursued by Hollywood studio chiefs desperate to capitalise on her recent The X Factor fame.
Legendary producer Harvey Weinstein is among those after her signature after the singer spent a four-day stint at the Cannes Film Festival, reports the Daily Mirror.
“I want to put Cheryl Cole in one of my films,” he declared. “I’ve heard all about her – she is getting a lot of buzz in the States with US X Factor. She’d sure make a great leading lady. She has a very interesting life story, I’m told.”
Weinstein, famous for his boisterous manner, has had a hand in producing some of the biggest films of the past two decades including Pulp Fiction, Chicago and most recently The King’s Speech.
The Girls Aloud singer-turned-The X Factor-judge caused a media storm in a low cut dress at the Cannes première of Habemus Papum, an Italian film about a newly elected pope and his therapist.
Cole’s one credited film performance so far is as ‘School Band Member’ in 2007’s St Trinian’s.
