After months of speculation, Cole's American dream has come true
Cheryl Cole has been confirmed to appear as a judge on the US version of The X Factor.
The Girls Aloud star has been a massive hit on the UK version of the show and had been tipped to appear on the US export. However, the decision was delayed over concerns she was not well known enough in the country.
However it has now been confirmed she will appear alongside Simon Cowell and Antonio LA Reid, with one spot on the panel now remaining, according to BBC News.
Cole said in a statement: “I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor. I just can’t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent, or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me.
“He’s tried to beat me for three years in the UK and hasn’t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this.”
Cowell added: “I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat. Most importantly, this girl can spot talent.”
It is not clear whether she will still maintain a role on the UK version.
