Chris Hemsworth set to play Hulk Hogan in a new Netflix biopic

Thor meets the Hulk (Hogan)

A new biopic of Hulk Hogan’s life is being made by Netflix, with Chris Hemsworth set to play the iconic wrestler.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hemsworth will play the iconic wrestler in a film said to “focus on Hogan’s rise” to fame in the 1980’s. It is further described as “an origin story of the Hulkster and Hulkamania.”

The biopic will reportedly be directed by Todd Phillips, director of the Hangover trilogy and the upcoming DC Comics film, Joker. The Hollywood Reporter says “deals for the Hogan project are in the midst of closing” with Netflix.

Back in December, Hogan was snapped at a New Years Eve party with Dua Lipa at LIV. The Miami bash, which was hosted by Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne, was also attended by 2 Chainz, Jamie Foxx and more.

Sharing a picture of himself standing with Dua Lipa, Hogan captioned the image: “Dua Lipa has a new bodyguard brother, yo Calvin partying with your girl. HH.”

Last year, Hemsworth shared a new image from himself in the upcoming Men In Black reboot. Titled MiB: International, Chris Hemsworth will star as Agent H, while Tessa Thompson will play Agent P. Emma Thompson will return as Agent O, while Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall and Rebecca Ferguson will also appear in the film.

Sharing the new image, Hemsworth wrote: “From memory, this shot was taken in between set ups when we noticed some criminal activity on the streets in London.

“We immediately drew our laser guns and took down one of the largest crime syndicates in the city. Happy to say the streets of London are now safe again. You’re welcome world. #MIBInternational@MenInBlack.”
