Colin Farrell to star in ‘Total Recall’ remake?

Director Len Wiseman approaches Irish actor over reimagining of 1990 sci-fi film

A remake of the 1990 American sci-fi action film Total Recall has been announced.

Len Wiseman, who directed the first two Underworld vampire films is set to direct the movie and he’s revealed that he’s approached Irish actor Colin Farrell to play the lead role, originally played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, reports Digital Spy.

The original Total Recall was a loose adaptation of sci-fi novelist Philip K. Dick‘s We Can Remember It For You Wholesale. It earned a $119m (£77.2 million) take at the box-office and was made on a budget of $50m (£32.4 million).

The remake will be shot in Toronto in March 2011 on a budget of $200m (£129 million). It is expected to be screened in cinemas in 2012.
