The drummer also thanked fans, writing: “It’s been a really tough time but playing our songs to you is something that’s really got me through. You’re an incredible bunch.”

Only a few weeks ago, the band announced details of a huge homecoming show at Manchester’s Heaton Park in 2019. They will be playing at the iconic park on Saturday June 15, with support from JamesDMAs and Pale Waves.

My family and I lost our wonderful dad, pat, the day before the tour started. It’s been a really tough time but playing our songs to you is something that’s really got me through. You’re an incredible bunch.

He loved the band so much and he was very proud of his youngest son. He wanted me to continue with the shows, so I’ve played for him. So for the last time on tour Dad, this one is for you.

I want to thank my brothers in the band, management, crew and the ‘teeners family for making this whole tour one that I’m supremely proud of and that I’ll never forget.

God bless the band and God bless my Dad X”
