David Hasselhoff to star in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’-style sitcom ‘Hoff The Record’

Knight Rider star's improvised comedy to be aired on Dave

Former Knight Rider and Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff is to star in a semi-improvised sitcom fictionalising his life, in the style of Larry David’s influential comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The six-part Hoff The Record will be screened by Dave next year, with co-stars announced shortly. It’s being produced by Me & You, the production firm behind An Idiot Abroad.

“When I made Baywatch, I dreamed of one day having my own show on a channel named after me,” said Hasselhoff. “They did name the channel after me, right?”

In the exaggerated version of his life, Hasselhoff is shown trying to rebuild his career in the UK after a series of bad career choices and five costly divorces. In real life, Hasselhoff has been married twice, to actors Catherine Hickland and Pamela Bach. He was a judge on the 2011 series of Britain’s Got Talent, and in February 2014 he hosted his own chat-show on Swedish TV station TV3.
