Disney have hired Shrek writter Terry Rossio to pen a fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean film – despite the fourth film not being out until May.
Alongside writing partner Ted Elliott, Rossio has written all four of the Pirates films thus far, but this time he’s set to write the as yet untitled fifth movie alone, reports Deadline.com.
Disney are also hoping to bring back the fourth film in the franchise’s director Rob Marshall for the fifth Pirates, alongside Johnny Depp.
Depp has already shown interest in a fifth film, saying: “As long as we can put all the puzzle pieces together, I would most definitely consider it.”
The fourth film in the movie series, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, opens in 3D on May 20.
