Do ‘The Good Place’ and ‘Parks & Recreation’ take place in the same universe?

With both The Good Place and Parks & Recreation sharing a creator and cast members, a keen-eyed fan has noticed that the shows could also take place in the same universe.

A Twitter user has pointed fellow fans in the direction of The Good Place character Eleanor Shellstrop’s (Kristen Bell) magazine. Titled ‘Celebrity Baby Plastic Surgery Disasters’, the fictional publication features ads for a Dennis Feinstein scent and Jean Ralphio champagne. Both characters feature in Parks & Rec.

Upon noticing the subtle Easter Egg which links the shows, the fan tweeted: “Just discovered that The Good Place takes place in the Parks and Rec universe and now my whole brain is crying.” Check out the post below.

Back in 2016, a fan claimed that Stranger Things and Parks & Recreation are also connected. The theory stated that the character of Steve Harrington is actually the father of Jean-Ralphio Saperstein from Parks & Rec.

Meanwhile, there’s been two seasons of The Good Place so far, with a third likely to air in the US in September this year.

The Good Place was created by Michael Schur – one of the minds behind Parks & Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The ‘deadcom’ follows four flawed people navigating life in a paradise that isn’t all is as it seems, and the phenomenon fast became a Netflix favourite.

Parks & Recreation aired its final ever episode back in 2015.
