Dominic Cooper has emerged as a frontrunner to take the lead in the upcoming The Bourne Legacy film.
The fourth film in the high-tech Bourne spy series will not feature Matt Damon‘s titular character Jason Bourne. Instead it will look at a bigger picture and following the consequences of the spy character’s actions in the first three films.
Now, according to Deadline.com, History Boys actor Cooper is leading the shortlist of favourites.
The British actor has also appeared in Mamma Mia.
Other names in the frame include Joel Edgerton, Garrett Hedlund, Luke Evans and Shia LaBeouf.
The Bourne Legacy will be directed for Universal by Tony Gilroy.
