Dream Wife are looking for women and non-binary artists to support them on tour

The band have put out an open call for artists to support them on tour

Dream Wife have announced a support slot open call for women and non-binary artists to support them across their US, UK and European tour dates.

Teaming up with non-profit organisations Girls Rock London and the Girls Rock Camp Alliance, the call is said to help achieve the “band’s mission to smash society’s objectification of women.”

They added: “One of the best things about touring is getting to meet, exchange ideas with, and play music alongside kickass bands from all over the world.”

“For our autumn headline tour dates we are calling for women/non-binary artists to come share their music, thoughts, the night and a stage with us.”

The band also called out the lack of gender diversity in the industry, saying they wanted to give opportunities to those artists who are currently underrepresented.

“Gender diversity in the music industry is still an issue and the aim is to provide a platform for women/NB musicians regardless of experience, financial backing, number of online followers etc.”

“If you’ve got rock ‘n’ roll in your soul, if you’ve got something to say; we want to hear from you.”

The band have also said that the musicians selected in each city will be “compensated accordingly.”

Earlier this year, NME gave Dream Wife’s self-titled debut album a five-star review, saying: “Not since Yeah Yeah Yeahs burst out of Manhattan in the early 2000s in a blaze of fishnets and glitter has punk rock been as downright fun.”

“From the opening coos of ‘Let’s Make Out’ to the hammered-out closing chords and screams of the excellently sweary ‘FUU’, this is a record that revels in spontaneity and the sheer magic of three best friends getting together in a studio and having the time of their lives.”

You can apply to support the band here; all submissions must be received by 31 July.
