Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson now says he’s “seriously considering” running for President

The Rock 2020 could actually happen?

Last weekend, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson appeared to play down the prospect of him running to be US President. Now, he has said that he’s “seriously considering” the idea.

Late last year, wrestler-turned-actor Johnson said that he “wouldn’t rule it out” when asked if he would seek office, saying: “It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”

Then, appearing on The Graham Norton Show last week, Johnson said that he couldn’t run because his Jumanji co-star Kevin Hart would “completely sabotage the campaign”.

Now, he has told Ellen DeGeneres: “I’m seriously considering it, yes.” Asked by Hart whether he would want him on his team, Johnson said: “There’s a lot of things you shouldn’t do”. He also joked that Hart would be too keen to press the nuclear button. Watch in the clip below.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle – starring Johnson and Hart – hits cinemas later this month (December 20).  The sequel to the 1995 fantasy adventure film also stars  Jack Black, Karen Gillan (Doctor Who), Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff and Morgan Turner.

Meanwhile, Johnson was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week. Responding to the news, the actor said that it was a “true, true honour”.
