Pair shared a hug outside Trump Tower

Fans have reacted to Kanye West‘s meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York earlier today (December 13).

Video footage emerged of West embracing Trump in front of cameras. Trump claimed that the pair had been friends for a “long time” and West was asked if he was going to play Trump’s inauguration.

Many were left baffled by the exchange and took to Twitter posting funny GIFs and comments.

West reportedly requested the “15-minute sitdown” meeting with the controversial billionaire-turned-politician.

E! News also claims that the rapper met with Trump “to discuss a potential role for the rapper” and the possibility of West becoming an “ambassador of sorts”. The report claims: “Trump is interested in getting West involved in an ‘entrepreneurial leadership role.’”

Last month, before his recent hospitalisation, West voiced his support for Trump, saying that, had he voted, he would have voted for Trump. The comments were badly received by fans.

West was recently released from hospital after being hospitalised for “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration” in late November, following a series on on-stage outbursts.

West’s hospitalisation came after an erratic few weeks. He cancelled the remainder of his ‘Saint Pablo’ tour, after a concert in Sacramento where he controversially cut his set short after just 30 minutes following a rant about Beyonce, where he claimed that her husband and West’s former friend and collaborator Jay Z had the means to have him killed.

Despite it being claimed that West would be ‘taking a break’ for the rest of the year, recent reports have claimed that West has “torn down” his studio as he prepares to resume his ‘Saint Pablo’ tour.

Kanye West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ is number two in NME‘s Albums Of The Year list for 2016. West also featured in our Songs Of The Year list.
