Adam Lambert confirms ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ cameo

Adam Lambert has put months of speculation to rest by finally confirming his cameo in Bohemian Rhapsody.

The pop star, who has been Queen’s touring frontman since 2011, appeared briefly in the Golden Globe-winning film last year as one of frontman Freddie Mercury’s lovers.

Lambert shared a photo of himself in costume in a tweet, writing “Who is he?” along with a winking and laughing emoji. It tied in with the news that the movie will be available on digital services on January 22.

Billboard reported in November that Lambert told the press on the red carpet at the New York premiere that he had a “very, very mysterious” role in the movie.

The moment in question sees Mercury (played by Rami Malek) speaking to his girlfriend Mary Austin (Lucy Boynton) on the phone at a road stop when Lambert approaches him. Lambert, wearing a trucker cap and sporting bushy facial hair, gazes at him longingly for what is suggested to later unfold as a public bathroom tryst.

Queen and Lambert, meanwhile, will embark on a 23-date tour of North America this summer. See the tour dates below.
