Sandler’s new film 'Men, Women And Children' makes UK debut at the London Film Festival
Adam Sandler has signed a four-movie deal with the streaming website Netflix. The star of The Wedding Singer and Happy Gilmore will produce four films for the online streaming portal through his company Happy Madison.
The comic actor will appear next on screen in director Jason Reitman’s Men, Women And Children which makes a UK debut at the BFI London Film Festival on October 9.
Sandler’s new films will be made available exclusively to Netflix users in 50 countries, reports Deadline.
The actor said of the deal: “When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said ‘yes’ for one reason and one reason only: Netflix rhymes with ‘wet chicks.’ Let the streaming begin!”
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos added: “People love Adam’s films on Netflix and often watch them again and again. His appeal spans across viewers of all ages – everybody has a favorite movie, everyone has a favorite line – not just in the U.S. but all over the world.”
Sandler plays a dad in Jason Reitman’s dramedy Men, Women And Children. Reitman previously directed Juno and Up in the Air. The synopsis for his latest film has revealed it follows “the story of a group of high school teenagers and their parents as they attempt to navigate the many ways the internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image, and their love lives”.
