Amber Heard confirms she will appear in ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Justice League’ films

Australian actress has signed on to appear as Mera

Amber Heard has confirmed that she will appear in the upcoming Aquaman film.

Heard has revealed that she will play Mera, Aquaman’s love interest, in both next year’s Justice League Part One and 2018’s standalone title. Jason Momoa is already confirmed to appear in the lead role for the DC franchise.

Speaking to ET, Heard said that Zack Snyder’s Justice League team is currently designing her a costume for the role. “It’s interesting,” she said. “I’m wearing a half suit of armor, half scales, I dunno — it’s strange, it’s strange.”

Aside from a brief appearance at the end of last year’s The Lego Movie, these will be the first big screen appearances for Aquaman, who possesses an assortment of water-based powers and made his DC Comics debut in 1941.

Director Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is set for release later this month (March 25).

Alongside Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman, the film will star Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Batman’s butler Alfred and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
