'The Dark Knight Rises' actress says she is 'interested' if director Christopher Nolan is too
Anne Hathaway has said that she is interested in the possibility of heading up a Catwoman spin-off movie as part of the Batman franchise of films.
Speaking to Digital Spy, The Dark Knight Rises actress said that if director Christopher Nolan was keen to make the film, she would be too.
“If he’s interested, I’m very interested,” she said. “I think it would be lovely to see more of her, but only if it’s with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City, and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least.”
Nolan recently told Access Hollywood: “She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more,” though he went on to say that he was ‘done’ with the series.
12 people were killed in the Colorado suburb of Aurora on July 20 during a shooting in cinema which was screening The Dark Knight Rises. According to witnesses, suspect James Holmes appeared wearing a gas mask and set off an explosive device before opening fire on the audience.
Christopher Nolan expressed “profound sorrow” in response to the shooting at the Century 16 cinema.
Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew, he said: “I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community. The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me.”
Over 70 people were shot by suspect James Holmes, 24, a former University of Colorado medical school student.
