Catwoman actress in talks to star with Chris Hemsworth in the sci-fi adaptation
Anne Hathaway could star with Chris Hemsworth in Steven Spielberg’s new movie Robopocalypse.
The film is based on an acclaimed sci-fi novel by Daniel H Wilson, which follows the human race’s attempt to survive an attack from its own robot servants. It will be Spielberg’s first excursion into the genre since 2005’s War Of The Worlds.
Back in July (2012), it was reported that Spielberg was keen to cast Hemsworth as the male lead. The Australian actor, who is currently filming Thor 2, is said to be in negotiations for the role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hathaway is now in talks to star opposite him, though these discussions are said to be “at an early stage”.
The actress, 29, is more in demand than ever following her popular turn as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in this summer’s The Dark Knight Rises. She will next be seen in the film version of Les Misérables, which will hit cinemas this December (2012) in the US and next January (2013) in the UK.
Spielberg’s latest movie, Lincoln, is also due to open shortly. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th President of the United States, it has a release date of November 2012 in the US and January 2013 in the UK. You can watch the trailer below.
