Actor plays a young getaway driver in the 2017 film
Baby Driver star Ansel Elgort has showed off some car tricks reminiscent of his character in the movie, doing doughnuts in the New York snowstorm.
The acclaimed action film was released in June of last year, directed by Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz filmmaker Wright and starring an ensemble cast that included Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Lily James, Eiza González and Jon Bernthal.
Baby Driver came second in NME‘s best films of 2017. Elgort played the titular character of Baby in the movie, a young getaway driver for a group of armed robbers who synchronises his escapes to the music he’s listening to.
Now, Elgort has uploaded footage of him driving in the snowstorm that has hit the New York area, writing in a caption: “Nyc snowstorm no worries baby will give u a ride”. Watch that clip below.
Meanwhile, director Edgar Wright has confirmed that work has begun on a Baby Driver sequel.
Wright recently told Entertainment Weekly that talks are “already in the works” for Baby Driver 2 and that “the deal is being hammered out as we speak”.
“Hopefully, I’m going to at least write a second one,” he added. “I’ve definitely got lots of ideas. Whether it’s the next movie, I don’t know. I’m just working that out at the moment, actually. I have a couple of things that I’ve been developing, and also a couple of new ideas that I had, and all the nice things that I’ve been offered since”.
