Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis are to be given “substantial” roles in the new Expendables film.
As reported by Deadline, the two action stars are locked into their roles for the sequel and are expected to do more than just set up the story.
Whether this means Arnie and Brucie will be picking up weapons and knocking heads together has yet to be announced.
In the first Expendables, the stars of Die Hard and Terminator shared barely two minutes of screentime with the film’s main star, Sylvester Stallone. You can view the scene below.
Also returning for The Expendables 2 alongside Stallone, Willis and Scwarzenegger are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews.
Last month, the studio head in charge of the production, David Varod, reeled off a list of names attached to the film that also included John Travolta, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris.
Simon West, of Con Air fame, has taken over from Sylvester Stallone as director.
The Expendables 2 is due for release in the UK on August 17, 2012.
