But at present, the project has no director or actors...
Avatar‘s executive producer Laeta Kalogridis has been hired to co-write the new Terminator movie.
Kalogridis, whose screenwriting credits include Shutter Island and Alexander, will pen the script with Patrick Lussier, writer-director of Drive Angry and Dracula 2000, reports Deadline.
The new Terminator movie is being steered by Zero Dark Thirty producer Megan Ellison, who owns the rights to the franchise, and her brother David, CEO of Skydance Productions, makers of Star Trek Into Darkness and Jack Reacher.
At present, the project has no director or confirmed star. Speaking last September (2012), Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared non-committal about making another Terminator movie. He said at the time: “They have been trying to put a script together but I’ve not seen it, so I’ve no idea. There’s nothing on the board at this point. Nothing on the plan.”
Schwarzenegger played the cyborg assassin in three films released between 1984 and 2003, but sat out the last instalment, 2009’s Terminator Salvation, which starred Christian Bale and Sam Worthington.
