Prepare for the end of MCU’s third phase
Some ‘leaked’ artwork for Avengers 4 has given fans a glimpse into what the super hero team could look like in the new movie.
The countdown has already begun to the follow-up to 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, with the fourth Avengers installment marking the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s third phase.
Shared via Twitter, the artwork shows Captain America and Iron Man leading the team, along with the Hulk, Black Widow, Thor and more. See it below.
It has not been confirmed whether the artwork is official. The sequel is set to arrive in UK cinemas in April 2019, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige saying it “will bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale.”
Avengers: Infinity War was released earlier this year and quickly began breaking box office records. It became Marvels’s most successful opening night in terms of ticket sales, taking $39 million (about £28.3 million).
Internationally, Avengers: Infinity War has earned $95 million in its first two days. Despite these big numbers, it didn’t will beat the overall biggest Thursday opening preview ever – 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which took an impressive $57 million.
Originally, Infinity War was set to be released in two parts – Part 1 and Part 2 – but on May 4, 2016 the Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that this was no longer the case. The first film kept the title Infinity War, while the second – aka Avengers 4 – is currently untitled.
Paul Rudd returning as Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, following the character’s first 2015 standalone film – hitting cinemas on July 6.
