‘Batman Begins’ actor back for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Holy non-spoilery subheading Batfans!!!

Cillian Murphy – the actor who played The Scarecrow in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight – will make an appearance as the villain in the final instalment, The Dark Knight Rises

As reported by ComicBookMovie and several other sites, fans visiting the set have taken to the internet with their discovery. Posting on a fan message board, a user named MagnusRex said:

Cillian Murphy is returning in TDKR. I couldn’t take a picture of him because there are a ton of security guards, but he’s definitely there. You can take this as 100% legit fact. Scarecrow is in TDKR.

Other online sources corroborated the spot, but no official word has been announced as to his reappearance.

Along with Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy will be the only other actor to have appeared in all three of the Christopher Nolan Batman films.

As well as playing Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow for Nolan in both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Murphy also appeared in Inception for the director.

Earlier this month, Joseph Gordon-Levitt warned fans against seeking out too many spoilers about the forthcoming blockbuster. So, if you’re reading this, you’ve made Joseph Gordon-Levitt sad. Good for you. Happy now?
