'There is a script... but it hasn't yet been fully formulated' says Stiller
Ben Stiller has revealed that he “definitely” wants supermodel-turned-actress Cara Delevingne to appear in Zoolander 2.
A sequel to Zoolander has been in the works since 2008. The original followed Stiller’s dim-witted male model Derek Zoolander as he got sucked into a plot by corrupt fashion executives to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Asked for an update on the sequel, Stiller told MTV: “There is a script, I won’t deny there’s a script, and there’s been a reading of the script… but it hasn’t yet been fully formulated.” Stiller then said that he “definitely would” like Delevingne – who was linked to the film earlier this summer – to be take on a role.
“I have seen the script and it seems funny,” added Owen Wilson, who also appeared in the original Zoolander film and is expected to return for the sequel.
Last month (November) it was reported that Penelope Cruz had signed up to co-star in Zoolander 2 opposite Stiller, who will also direct the comedy sequel from a script which has had input from Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2).
Will Ferrell is also rumoured to be reprising his roles from the original film, which has gained a sizeable cult following in the years since its release.
