Bette Midler pokes fun at Disney with ‘Hocus Pocus’ virgin tweet

Actress told fans last year to 'inundate Disney' if they want to see a 'Hocus Pocus' sequel

Bette Midler has poked fun at Disney with tongue-in-cheek tweet about a possible Hocus Pocus sequel.

Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy starred in the classic supernatural comedy film as a trio of witches brought back to life when a virgin lights the so-called ‘Black Flame Candle’.

Though Hocus Pocus wasn’t a huge box office hit upon its release in 1993, it has since become a Halloween favourite and last year Midler urged fans to “inundate Disney” if they want to see a sequel.

With Halloween approaching, Midler tweeted earlier this week to joke that the reason Disney has to green light Hocus Pocus 2 is because the Mouse House is “having trouble finding a virgin”.

She also showed her support for Hocus Pocus 2 in a similarly tongue-in-cheek follow-up tweet.
