Bill Murray is reported to have thrown fans’ mobile phones off the roof of a restaurant last week (February 11).
The actor was attending Justin Timberlake‘s 901 Tequila party at Vesuvio, a restaurant in Carmel, California when the incident occurred. He is said to have become annoyed with people getting too close to him as they were trying to take selfies with him.
Murray is alleged to have thrown three phones off the roof. The police were called to the restaurant at 10:30pm, but by the time they arrived the actor had left.
Carmel police commander Paul Tomasi told Sky News that Murray’s representatives had been contacted.
“He acknowledged that he was there and said he is willing to replace the property that was damaged,” said Tomasi.

The officer also confirmed no further action will be taken against Murray since the fans affected did not want to press charges.
Last year, Murray announced he had signed up to director Wes Anderson’s next film, a Japanese stop-motion comedy about dogs.
He didn’t spill any plot points, but said, “I’m playing a dog. He’s doing another, like a stop motion animated kind of comedy sort of like ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’.”
“It’s a Japanese story and I’m playing a dog. I’m very excited,” he added.
