The latest trailer for Netflix’s new apocalyptic thriller Bird Box has been released.
Based on the 2014 novel by Josh Malerman, it stars Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson as sisters Malorie and Jessica.
It follows Bullock as she navigates the world after an ominous unseen presence drives most of society to suicide. This other-worldly entity shows the victim’s their worst fears and drives them to the point of insanity. In order to survive, people must wear blindfolds so the “creatures” are unable to possess them.
It’s out on December 21 on Netflix and also stars John Malkovich and Moonlight actor Trevante Rhodes.

Machine Gun Kelly also appears in the film. He is also appearing in upcoming Captive State, Big Time Adolescence with Pete Davidson, and The Dirt with Tommy Lee. He is also currently filming an as yet untitled film with Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Meanwhile, Netflix has confirmed Friends will stay on the streaming platform throughout 2019. Earlier this month, fans spotted a new date under the heading “Availability” on the programme’s landing page on the streaming platform. A section headed “details” suggested the show would only be available to view on Netflix until January 1, 2019.
However, Netflix confirmed the show will remain on the UK version of the site. When a fan tweeted at the platform asking about the programme’s future, they responded: “The One Where Friends Is Going Nowhere, Don’t Worry.”
Elsewhere, Netflix revealed its most re-watched original movies and binged TV shows for 2018. The three films that were the most re-watched originals between January 1 2018 and November 28 2018 were teen rom-coms The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before together with Roxanne Roxanne, the emotive biopic about rapper Roxanne Shanté.
