‘Blade Runner’ star Sean Young wanted for questioning in connection to burglary

The actor played Rachael in the 1982 sci-fi classic

Blade Runner star Sean Young is wanted for questioning by police in connection to a burglary, according to reports.

The actor played Rachael in the 1982 sci-fi movie. She also appeared in 1984’s Dune and 1994’s Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

Young was reportedly caught by surveillance cameras stealing laptops and video production software from a store in Queens, New York.

Police said after employees at the shop reported a burglary yesterday (August 9) they viewed tapes which showed the 58-year-old actor and a man breaking into the store and stealing the items, which were worth a total of $12,000 (£9,400).

TMZ reports the actor was employed at the store until she was fired a few months ago.

Young has yet to comment on the matter.

The star was not involved in last year’s Blade Runner sequel, although Rachael did appear in the movie. The character was digitally recreated in Blade Runner 2049 and appeared looking exactly as she did in the 1982 film.

Meanwhile, Young’s Blade Runner co-star Rutger Hauer slammed the sequel after its release, saying the follow-up wasn’t “necessary” and that it lacked any existential elements. The actor, who played Roy Batty, said: “It’s not a character-driven movie and there’s no humour, there’s no love, there’s no soul. You can see the homage to the original, but that’s not enough to me.”
