‘Bob’s Burgers’ renewed for sixth season by Fox

US network orders another 22 episodes of the award-winning animated sitcom

Bob’s Burgers has been renewed for a sixth season by US network Fox.

The new season of the animated sitcom, which centers on the Belcher family as they run a hamburger restaurant in an unnamed seaside community, will consist of 22 episodes, Fox also announced.

“We can’t help but love the Belcher family. This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on Fox,” said the network in a statement.

“We are proud of Loren (Bouchard, creator) and Jim (Dauterive, executive producer) and the extremely talented voice cast who bring these unique characters to life with both humour and charm each week. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for season six.”

Season five of Bob’s Burgers began on Fox last October. In the UK, early seasons of the show have been shown on E4. Bob’s Burgers collected the Outstanding Animated Program prize at last year’s Emmy Awards, having been nominated without winning for the two previous years.
