‘Bond 24’ – new villain will be iconic like Jaws

Details revealed on Daniel Craig’s next adversary

Daniel Craig’s adversary in Bond 24 will be iconic like Jaws and Oddjob.

A James Bond fansite has revealed that casting has begun for the main henchman assassin in 007’s next adventure.

MI6 says the search for Bond’s next nemesis is “focused on someone extremely physically fit and over 6′ 2″” and different to anyone that has been cast before. Director Sam Mendes is said to be looking for someone with the same physical impact of Jaws (pictured) who fought Roger Moore’s Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).

The lucky actor will be thrown into several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and a driving sequence is promised. MI6 added: “Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’. The character has the working name of ‘Hinx’ (which may change before shooting starts) and is said to be between 30 and 45 years old.”

Lea Seydoux from Blue Is The Warmest Colour is also in talks for a role.

Naomie Harris will return in Bond 24 as Moneypenny along with Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw. As reported, Harris has recently finished filming Our Kind Of Traitor with Ewan McGregor and will join Jake Gyllenhaal in boxing drama Southpaw.

Filming on the next Bond adventure has been delayed while changes to the script are made. Skyfall was released in 2012 and is the most successful Bond film yet taking over £665m at the worldwide box office.

Daniel Craig may also return in the long gestating The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo sequel the The Girl Who Played With Fire based on the book by Stieg Larsson.
