Spin-off series centred on Walter White's dodgy lawyer premieres next month (February)
An extended trailer for Better Call Saul – the Breaking Bad spin-off series centred on Walter White’s dodgy lawyer Saul Goodman – has been released by US cable network AMC. Check it out below.
AMC has recently announced that it will air the first episode of Better Call Saul on February 8 – with Episode Two to follow 24 hours later on February 9. In the UK, the series will arrive on Netflix in the same month, at an exact date to be confirmed.
The spin-off series is initially set in 2002, six years before Saul meets Walt. When we meet Saul he’s actually called James “Jimmy” McGill and hustling for supposed “legal” work with private investigator Mike.
Better Call Saul‘s first season will consist of 10 episodes, and AMC has already commissioned a second season comprising 13 episodes. The spin-off series is being steered by Peter Gould, one of Breaking Bad‘s executive producers, and Vince Gilligan, who created the award-winning drugs drama starring Bryan Cranston. Gould and Gilligan confirmed earlier this month (January) that Cranston’s Walter and Aaron Paul’s Jesse will not appear in Season One, but hinted that they could feature in future seasons.
Last month (December) AMC released the first official poster for Better Call Saul. Check it out here.
