Harvey Weinstein has now been accused by more than 100 women of sexual misconduct
British actress and model Kadian Noble has filed a lawsuit against Harvey and Bob Weinstein, accusing them under sex trafficking laws.
Hollywood and beyond have been rocked by the scandal, with producer Harvey Weinstein currently under police investigation for a wide range of sexual misconduct allegations. Since October, more than 100 women have come forward to accuse him of bullying, harassment, intimidation and rape over the last 40 years. He denies all criminal charges.
Now 31-year-old Kadian Noble has filed a suit claiming that she met Harvey Weinstein at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, before he invited her to Le Majestic Hotel to discuss her future. She then alleges that he began massaging her shoulders and asked her to walk up and down the room for him “for audition purposes”. The suit also accuses him of groping her, before pulling Noble into his hotel bathroom and forcing her to pleasure him, telling her that “everything will be taken care of for you if you relax.”
The actress is seeking unspecified damages, accusing Weinstein of being able “to force or coerce” her into sexual activity by promising to wield influence in the film industry – and that it was a violation of sex trafficking statute. . She is also suing the Weinstein Co. and brother Bob, claiming that they were aware of his behaviour, contributing to his foreign travel to recruit women into “forced or coerced sexual encounters”. She claims that the company facilitated the sex acts by either knowing of or recklessly disregarding Harvey Weinstein’s modus operandi.
Harvey Weinstein’s spokesman Holly Baird said: “Mr Weinstein denies allegations of non-consensual sex. Mr Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”
Bob Weinstein is yet to respond to the suit, but has denied any knowledge in his brother Harvey’s alleged misconduct.
